Where to find ad hoc workers?

We need help selling our products at shows but only ad hoc. Where do I advertise for people like that? Job agencies have not worked for us, any advice?

I'll do it. Where are you?

Seriously, wouldn't the local job centre do it? Or perhaps even mumsnet local.

you could use www.peopleperhour.com
I have used it to do freelance ad hoc jobs.

It probably depends to a large extent on what you mean by "help selling our products" and what skills these people need to have. Do you need experienced sales people who can close a deal on an expensive product in a high pressure environment, or someone who can stand there and take payments for items.

Off-duty actors are good for that kind of stuff. Or try using a promotions company who will vet and source staff for you? Like this one

Hi

I am available next weekend for Olympia.

In the past I was a graduate recruiter so attended a lot of graduate fairs etc.

Many Thanks

Try students through local universities. They usually have "job shops" where they'll advertise jobs. Often they are part of the Students Unions...

oh god this gives me flashbacks to the three days I spent slicing a giant mortadella sausage at Olympia exhibition centre...

if you don't want to go via agencies because of the fees, try student recruitment services.
