is this fair regarding the hours Ive been offered

I have been doing some temporary work for a large company for the last 6 months on a full time basis, working along side another person who was part time.

When our contracts came to an end the part time person was offered additional work and allowed to keep the same hours. Nothing was offered to me so I enquired and have been offered the remaining hours so we will be job sharing.

I feel its unfair that I have had no say in which are the best hours for me. Is this fair?

Yes. They offered what they wanted to who they wanted. Fair doesn't even come into it.

I see what you're saying. But, I spoke to the manager about how I felt and it was suggested that we sort it out between us but the other person doesn't want to change.

Then that's what you're stuck with I'm afraid.
If the other person doesn't want to change, they don't have to. You have two choices (and I'm sorry to sound harsh) either suck it up and get on with it or leave and find work elsewhere.

It sounds like they preferred the other person's work to yours. All you can do is try to prove them wrong.
