Anybody work two jobs?

I am a single mum to 5yr old DS, I work an office job in London but am usually home by 5/5:30.

I have been thinking about getting a pub/restaurant job for one weekday evening and one weekend shift a week if I can. I have worked in these kind of jobs before and done shift work so in that respect I think I will be fine. Childcare will also not be an issue.

But I'm unsure if it will be too much.

Has anyone done this/still doing it? What's it like?

Really needing the money so unless anyone has any suggestions of things I could do from home I'm going to have to take the plunge and do it. But I'm scared!

Be careful about your tax. Remember your tax allowance will have been used upon your main job, so you will pay tax on the full amount you earn in job 2. If its low paid, as many pub jobs are, it may not be worth doing.

I do this currently I work in an office and dont finish til 6pm and do one evening and one weekend shift in a pub as I need the extra money. Can be really tiring if honest though because of the distance of my two jobs I need to go straight from my office job to my other job midweek

i think you can contact tax office and ask them to split your tax allowance between the two jobs, saving on emergency tax on 2nd job
