hi there I am off sick from work at the min as I have blood clots in my heart /lungs. work are saying I don't qualify for ssp as the my hours were low for the 2 wks before I went off sick. I am paid monthly and went of sick on the 12 may , on dwp web page it says if your paid monthly its your last 2 monthly pays that are taken in to account which would be 1st may and 1st April . so it doesn't take in to account my wages from 1st may to 12th any way !! does that sound rite , so if I make no sense at all !!Angry Angry

Call HMRC employee rights helpline on 0300 200 3200 - they will be able to tell you if you are eligible, and assist you if your work are incorrect. You may be able to claim ESA if you can't get SSP.

You could give them this HMRC employer guide which explains how to work out the relevant period very clearly.
