I would like to be a teaching assistant in the long term. I think I really need a break.

A good friend of mine left teaching to work as a teaching assistant as she still wanted the more family-friendly working hours without the paperwork expectations! She works one-on-one with a statemented child to ensure he can stay in mainstream schooling and she loves it!

Do you have a particular area of expertise that you could look to utilise if you want to leave a school environment entirely?

Have come back to teaching after maternity leave, a psychotic episode and a depressive spell and I really hate it. Been back since sept so have given it a fair go. Too much pressure I'm afraid, threat of being put onto capability measures. Am going to concentrate on my daughter. Is there life after teaching? Any jobs I could do?
