I'm CIMA qualified (although was more years ago than I care to remember) - what do you want to know?

I'd say don't underestimate how much work it is - it's a real commitment to see it through and the exams aren't easy. But that said, it'll be worth it in the long run. Most accountancy jobs require some form of qualification so if that's what you want to be doing in the long run, worth putting the time in now...

I am also CIMA qualified - like slev, I qualified quite a few years ago!

It is a lot of work, and you will need to have relevant work experience too alongside the qualification, but it is worth it.

What do you want to know?

am 36, realise I'll be at least 40 by the time I finish, but have decided it's what I want to do, have 2 years in previous job which may count towards the 3 required as professional experience....am currently in legal sector, plan is to move when I get CBA then continue until I qualify in a role that is relevant.

Anyway, have started with CO5 as quite easy given my current job, so so good so far - at moment have a stupid question which is, will I need to use excel at all during CO 1 to 4?

By this I mean, I do not have excel on laptop at home, only at work, so do I need to get this or is there no need? was assuming it will all be pen and paper?

I'm not sure how your college will do the programme, but you may well need to use your computer for 'homework', if you do then excel will be the main programme you will need. Can you do anything at work at lunchtimes/after hours?
It was mostly pen & paper when I did it, but that was a number of years ago!!!

for cba all exams are computer based - just wondering if spreadsheets are going to be part of the studying in C01 to C04.....? ie will I have to practice or will it all be theoretical and maths with pen paper and calculator???
