Hi, I would like to hear from parents who home school in West London. I am moving my family from Wales to Acton and am considering home schooling for my 12 year old daughter. She is very sociable and for that reason I would love to know more about home schooling groups. We have failed to get her into a decent state school in West London and the fee paying option would cripple us. I therefore need to explore home schooling to work out if it's the right thing for our daughter.
Your advice would be much appreciated.

Have you had a look at the Home Ed thread on here?

Hi

I'm home educating in Ealing (just down the road from Acton) but my eldest is 9.

There are various active West London home ed groups. There is a fortnightly meeting in Ealing that I know of, plus the Otherwise Club somewhere in NW London (I think), and lots of outings and activities.

There are two yahoo groups
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/WestLondonHomeEd/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/westlondonhom eeducators/

It might be worth your joining those groups to get a feel for what's going on. There's plenty to do.

All the best, and feel free to contact me if you would like more info.

Hi
I am home educating my 7 year old in uxbridge. I noticed you were in the earling area and had asked for info on groups. Have you had any luck? If so I would greatly appreciate any details. Many thanks

There's a whole home education section on Mumsnet here:
