My dd is and will be 5 in October. I can't wait and neither can she - she is more than ready and wants to wear the uniform. She's already in the Nursery at the School so it won't be a big issue. I still have ds at home but intend to increase his play group places to 5 mornings a week and get on a college course.

My ds2 starts in Sept. He isn't even 4 yet - will be 4 in June. Seems so young doesn't it ?

I have ds1 going to school also in September, part time until Christmas as birthday in March. I heard the other day that we had got him into the school i wanted, now feel really nervous already, thinking of him in his little school uniform. It is a real milestone which you dont think about much until it is upon you, do you?

Like you I have one left at home ds2 aged 2. I think he will really miss his big bro.

dd is due to start in September and won't be 5 until the following August !! She is so little too but very keen to learn. Will be especially as she can be great company and entertains herself a lot but sometimes it gets so hard to keep her out of mischief and she gets difficult but then I feel guilty about wishing her pre-school years away.

When DD2 started school she wasn't 5 until the end of August. So she started school aged 4 and 11 days. Just as she hit 5 all her friends turned 6 and she's been playing catch up ever since.

ds will be starting in sept - he's 4 in July. I think he'll be ready, as he goes to fulltime nursery now and loves it. In fact his day will be a lot shorter when he is at school! It is a bit weird though.

DS2 starts in September, he will be 5 in January too, DS1 was in exactly the same position 2 years ago. By the time September came he was raring to go and loved it from day 1.

It's weird to think that i won't have a baby(!) at home anymore, but it does mean that I have to go back to school full-time in September as well, although I don't teach at their school.

Has your DS been to nursery? Mine started part-time in the school nursery this week, he's previously been at a very small private one, he looks like he's been at the huge school one all his life after only 3 mornings. I'm having problems persuading him to leave at lunchtime!!

My ds2 will do half days till xmas too so much like being at nursery. He has no qualms about going as his big brother is there at the moment so he knows the school and the teachers. Unfortunately ds1 moves onto a junior school in sept so they will be at different schools. I could have timed that better !

My ds starts in Sept and will be 5 in Oct. He can't wait and suddenly seems so grown up - I will be a bit sad when he reaches this milestone but then dd will also be starting pre-school and we will have a new baby too by then!

DS will start in September - he will be 5 at the end of October. Will hear in a couple of weeks where he has a place. Think he is quite excited about it, although can't imagine him wanting to wear a uniform!

I just can't believe that my 'baby' is so grown up! She's looking forward to it loads, while I am nervous as hell!

My ds is just trying to get his head round - "so i go Mon, Tues, Wed, Thu, Fri but not Sat or Sun?" He only goes to nursery 2 ams a week at the moment. Do you think you should build them up to going every day before September?

My dd will be 4 in June, luckily we live in Scotland and she won't be starting til next year, as there is no way she would be ready for school!

It seems strange that children her age will be going to school in September, she just seems so young to me...

my baby is starting in sept as well and he isnt five til feb. He is also in a wheelchair and has cerebral palsy, so am even more of a wreck about it, and this will be my 4th time!

elliedragon, no i don't think it's necessary for them to do 5 days. The summer break is long enough to forget all about the routine anyway. You may want him to do 3 though.

not sure how it works anymore but i thought they started school when they were 5..... not 4 1/2

god its gonna happen so soon....
