Being a Star. White Trousers. Aarghhh!!!

Hello

I am looking after me sisters DS for a week and his school have just informed me he is going to be a star in his school nativity play and needs to be dressed entirely in white.

Where on earth sells white trousers for boys at this time of year?! Please don't advise me to make a costume as I am crap at things like this and as I work full time, really don't have the time to do so either.

Can anyone help with this impossible task?

alternatively try primark or anywhere and get pyjamas maybe?

He is almost 4. i've tried Primark and Asda so far and no luck. Time is tick ticking. I like the PJ's idea though. Maybe I will go shopping on my lunch break.

Have you found any white trousers for your DS yet? How old is he?

ah, we had this last year, only my ds had to be a snowman ( white top, trousers, scarf, and gloves).

The gloves stumped me for ages till I found some white bath mits in a pound shop. Talking of stumps, we used cricket trousers to cover his bottom half. My ds was big enough to get into a small sized mans pair. I tacked up the hems. If you have to buy new, all is not lost (there must be a cricket term for that, wish I knew it) Our local Sportsworld shop had boys cricket trousers in their sale for under £5.00. As cricket is a summer sport, hopefully other shops might be reducing them now as well. Good Luck!!

If all else fails could you try bleaching some old trousers? Have never tried it myself so don't know if it would actually work or not, someone else might know......

can you just paint his legs with white paint? (they had children dressed as snowflakes on cbeebies this morning, they looked painted).

dd1 age 4 is an angel but has to wear all black (is she a Hells angel?) would prefer white as we have white pyjamas but no black clothes.

well DD's costume spec should be straightforward-pjs, dressing gown and slippers; except we don't possess any of those things so I'm off to buy them this lunchtime and not remotely ...

Thanks for suggestions; I was in a quandary about this too. DS2 (3)has to be a star in the nursery play, and I don't have girls or tights, so was going to turn his Buzz Lightyear pyjama trousers inside out (what's a bit of green showing through?!)
But the karate trousers is a great idea - DS1 does karate, and will just need to roll them half a dozen times. Thanks! We have a white polo shirt.

DS1 needs a red or green top and red or green trousers for his school play - he is 6 and is having to squeeze into an old pair of age 4 checked green trousers, as I'm not messing about with dye.......

Am I the only one to find it shocking that parents have to provide the costumes? My children's school nearly always provides them, or just asks for simple things like "wear red" etc.

candycane .. wear red wouldn't be simple if you didn't happen to have 'red' clothes though (much as wearing white is proving to be a pain cos we don't have white ones)

I have this problem 2, as my ds came home from school with a letter saying they r going 2 be angels in the play & need white tops & trousers.
Luckily I have been offered a pair of doctors trousers, which my friend's son has as part of his doctors outfit.
My friend who lives across the road had this problem last year & just layed a pair of her ds's trousers on top of a pillow case, cut out shape & stitched them up!

Nooooo! There are no cricket / karate / white PJ's to be found anywhere. I really am NOT a sewing, creative type person - in fact I am pretty damn useless at things like this!!
