Hi

we are relocating in April next year to the boarders of Cornwall and Devon and are keen for our children 10 and 12 to continue their Music and Arts that they so much enjoy currently.
Can any one recommend any private schools Plymouth ,Oakhampton and Truro way and their experience.

thanks

J

Do you realise you would be looking at 60-90 minute drive to get from the border to Truro on a good day? Public transport wouldn't really be an option. We always had a great music dept at Truro School (Roger Taylor of Queen is an old boy) and they have a good theatre.

If you are on the border, the drive to Truro is probably much too far. Private school options are Mount Kelly in Tavistock, Plymouth College in Plymouth, Shebbear in rural Devon, or you could look at Exeter schools (Maynard, Exeter) if you are near Okehampton (which doesn't have a private school AFAIK) but the Exeter schools run a bus service. Be warned, it leaves Okehampton at 7.15 and gets back about 5-5.30 depending on traffic. St Joesph's in Launceston only goes as far as Y11.
