At my kids' primary school, there is a window with a few large cracks, which is in an external door. The door leads to the hall, where we pick kids up from after school activities, but not used by kids. It looks as though there has been an attempted break in, the wood around handle/lock has been chipped away, as well as the cracks in the glass listed above. There's a bit of tape on the window, but it's been broken since February. Yes, over 3 months. It was just before half term so we assumed they would replace it when school was closed, but it was not. In the last week there has been a piece of chipboard placed over the glass (does not fit entire glass though, so doesn't look to be a professional job).
It really is annoying me they have not replaced it. We now pick the kids up from reception as they go out the door which leads into school if they've been to after school clubs. But we have to go past the broken glass to pick kids up from their classes, and as it's nearest external door would be used as a fire escape from the hall. The hall is used every day for PE, assemblies, lunch etc.
It makes me wonder why they're not replacing it. They are an academy, part of a larger multi academy trust. It makes me wonder if they're fiddling the money (we are constantly being asked to raise money for the school, but that's another story!)
What do you think I should do?
