Just getting ds(5) in the bath tonight and he has a red pinch mark on his arm and another red mark which look like faint finger marks on his shoulder.

I hasten to say these are quite feint and he had not mentioned them to me until I asked him about it.

Apparantly a boy in his class did it. It hurt at the time, but not enough to cry. The teacher told the boy off. Ds was quite factual about it but not complaining about being picked on or anything like that. He (so far) seems very happy at his new school.

Should I mention the marks to the teacher? Sounds like something was said to the boy at the time, which I'm happy with.

I'm prepared to accept it was just a bit of rough horseplay. Shall I let it go for now unless something more happens?

As the boy was told off and your DS is happy, I'd leave it but keep my eyes peeled for any future incidents.

Thanks Soupy that's what I thought I'd do too. I've not come across this before and want to do the right thing without looking like I'm over-reacting.

I agree with SD, although if you're at all concerned you could have a word with the teacher, just to confirm what happened & so she knows you are aware of it.
