I'm going to buy a tablet this Christmas, my main motivation is to support my daughter (7) who is struggling with her literacy so I want some fun stuff with words that fits in with her school phonics. I am a card carrying Apple hater but I suspect most of the best literacy aps will only exist for ipads (not windows or android)
Can you recommend any aps and tell me if they are Apple only? I suspect I may have to "get over myself" and go Apple ;-)
Thanks in advance for any help
All the best
Jon

I like reading eggs (younger) and reading eggspress (older). It is a website so no need for a tablet but it also does have apps.

I did a fair bit of research and attended some courses when deciding which tablets to buy for for my primary school a couple of years ago. After hearing and seeing what was on offer from a range of viewpoints we went with Apple and now have several iPads and iPad Minis at school.

We have iPads at home too.

The two main Phonics apps we use at school are Pocket Phonics and Twinkl Phonics Suite. I don't know what other platforms they are available for though.
