Me too. Trying to cook fish pie tonight - so lots of pans all on the go at once, peeling potatoes etc. Ds2, whingey and tired after only his second full day at school, skidding round the kitchen floor in my laundry basket despite my best attempts to get him to "sit down and do some drawing - you're tired!" and ds1 bombarding me with questions about his maths homework and waving sheets of squared paper at me. I don't do maths...English...history...maybe even RE and geography if I'm pushed. Maths, nope. Apparently now he is Year 5 he will have maths homework every night. Oh fanbloodytastic.

Yup just taken ds 2 hours to complete his homework which was quite straightforward. Due back next day apparently. We get home later on Mondays and Tuesdays which unfortunately seem to be his worksheet nights . Hope we get some respite for the rest of the week.

mine have loads of homework/prep but if it hasn't got to be into next week then ds1 wants to leave it till the weekend so we argue for 15 mins about that..

then he swears blind he has done it and i check and it is thebare minimum.

I tore the sheet out last night and said

'Bow has a capital letter as does Palmer Green and any other name, someting you would have learned in primary school, now get on and do it properly'
