.....any teachers out there??? I have never seen a single post of support for him. It would be interesting to see if there are any and to hear some counter arguments.

MaureensWhites Sat 19-Oct-13 22:08:47

Nope. Not this one. He is a dangerous lunatic.

madrose Sat 19-Oct-13 22:10:30

he's destroying the future of students - not a good person at all

Bakingtins Sat 19-Oct-13 22:11:37

This is going to be a short thread.

No

SweepTheHalls Sat 19-Oct-13 22:12:19

Nope, he needs taking out.

The man is hated and loathed by every teacher I know.

AHardDaysWrite Sat 19-Oct-13 22:15:40

I loathe him, as does every other teacher I know -- even the very few who admit to voting Tory--

Meow75 Sat 19-Oct-13 22:17:27

Strong dislike for the dickhead here too.

I'm a teacher and I don't know of any teachers who like the man.

Teacher, married to a teacher, friends with many teachers. 100% loathing on my side.

DH knows one bloke who respects him. Said bloke just took a job at Eton. Nuff said.

StitchingMoss Sat 19-Oct-13 22:31:53

Dangerous man - his half baked and mad ideas are destroying state education.

Khara Sat 19-Oct-13 23:13:38

My mum thinks he's great. (She's not a teacher and reads the Daily Mail.)

Purpleprickles Sat 19-Oct-13 23:19:42

Words cannot describe how much I despise him. He is ruining education and childhood. I say this as a parent and a teacher.

straggle Sat 19-Oct-13 23:40:44

He namechecks teachers in his speeches sometimes. They're like his favourite courtiers in the Court of Gove. But they're all academy or free school heads who have benefited from rapid promotion, often in academy chains sponsored by Tory donors or from thinktanks. Never the heads of outstanding community schools.

Purpleprickles Sat 19-Oct-13 23:43:47

I think Straggle that's because in Goveland you can only be truly outstanding if you work in a free school or academy. The rest of us are chopped liver.

TondelayoSchwarzkopf Sat 19-Oct-13 23:48:06

I'm not a teacher but I hate Gove with every fibre of my being.

thestauntonlick Sat 19-Oct-13 23:49:25

As rare as hen's teeth and nurses who like cameron, I imagine

greyvix Sat 19-Oct-13 23:54:29

I know teachers who have worked with him as advisers, but he has ignored all of their advice. I do not know of a single teacher who respects him. How could they, when he treats them with such contempt?

Sparkle9 Sat 19-Oct-13 23:58:27

I'm a teacher and I do not like or respect Gove at all. So much so that I will vote Labour at the next election and I've never done that before!

Sparkle9 Sun 20-Oct-13 00:02:33

He seems to have been surprisingly silent during the past week. With spokespeople from the DfE being quoted in the media regarding the latest failed free school and David Laws responding to an education question in PMQs. I wonder if the Conservative media advisors have advised this.... I could be totally wrong, of course, but I did think it odd not to see or hear much from him during this past week of high profile education stories (failing free school, strike...)

Maybe I'm just secretly hoping that David Cameron is waking up to just how awful Gove is... Probably not...

thestauntonlick Sun 20-Oct-13 00:05:57

Presumably Cameron doesn't give a shit. Him and all.his mates privately educate their children, and being a Tory he won't care about the rest of us angry

tethersend Sun 20-Oct-13 00:07:52

I'm a teacher and I think he's a great man with sound, well thought out policies.

tethersend Sun 20-Oct-13 00:08:07

Paaahhhahhhhhaaaaahhaaaaa

Sparkle9 Sun 20-Oct-13 00:11:01
