We're just at the point of applying, so we're trying to find out more about the school before we pay for an application. It would be helpful to know what sort of things the kids are asked to do in the assessment. If it all sounds too tough and competitive, we might not submit an application.
Well it's competitive insofar as loads of people apply and they have very few places - so odds are slim. But tough? Hardly. It would be unpopular school that started putting 2 and 3 year olds through their paces. They are looking for kids that look as though they will be able to concentrate. They look at gross and fine motor skills. All observed though play etc.
there is a general thread about 3,4 & 7+ under the Primary school section where a tutor talks about what goes on at these assessments.
