they are the key high and medium frequency words but this next link will give you the spelling patterns ect they should know....

Lockets is that to read or spell (I didn't actually realise there would be a difference - am a complete numbskull re: the KS system

Once they are in yr3 - certainly "average" readers with a reading age of 7 or so - they would be expected to sound out most basic words. Certainly anything which is fairly regularly and of only 2 or 3 syllables. Isn't that correct Popsy?

ah ok, that'll be why I can't find anything on the Internet about it..

Pretty much. I have taught years 5 and 6 for almost 9 years now and have never seen a list. The poorer readers would normally use word lists that 'average' readers (sorry hate that word!) in younger year groups would use (disguised in an 'older' way of course)

Is there anything specific you want to know feistybird as some of us may be able to help
