anyone used this website? Claims to have given out £25K and seems to have a lot of sites I'd use anyway

I'm thinking of suggesting publicity to the PA but I'd like to be sure its not a con.

We are using buy.at (see {http://buy.at/RothwellStMarys} - it's an up and coming web shop and it's adding new retailers all the time.
The biggest problem I have found is convincing people to use it. Between the period Oct to date (we only set it late Sept 05) we have £72 in commission to come back to the school. I am hoping that over the year we can plug it often enough for people to remember it next Christmas when they do they're shopping on line!
If you're wanting to use this webshop idea - if you go to the A-Z section and click on buy.at - register your school, our school will receive £1!

Good luck

interesting - doesn't mention any deduction from the funds raised for admin but doesn't offer the same sort of facilities to track your own contribution. Have to consider further which one to do.

auntymandy - in answer to your question how do you shop via this webshop? You click on the A-Z tab at the top of the page and it lists ALL the retailers (in 3 months this list has increased from 80 to 100). Just find the retailer you want - for example Marks & Spencer - click on the link and it takes you to their website. You just shop then as you would if you'd gone direct to www.marksandspencer.co.uk!
You also mentioned about not being able to track the contributions. When you set it up - whoever is in charge is given an administrator password and they have access to a management page. On this page it details month by month all the retailers and what commission has been awarded. You can even check the amount spent at each retailer so you can check the % commission! Buy.at also show you the progress of your commission from being awarded to the cheque being posted to you.
So far I'm very pleased with this idea - the struggle is getting people to use it!
Good luck - let me know how you get on - any questions email me:
