Interview for an LSA

I have an interview tomorrow for an LSA in a college. The job will be working with special needs students age 14 - 24.

My experience is as a volunteer; I have been spending some time once a week mainly talking to the students and scribing for them.

Can anybody help me with suggesting what questions may arise? I work as a dinner lady in my dc's school so I have some idea and suspect they will ask me about safeguarding, etc.

Thanks in advance!

They might ask you how you might differentiate the curriculum for eg a student with ASD and then what would you do differently for a student in the same class with ADHD or mental health difficulties. They might also ask about your knowledge of dyslexia, dyscalculia and any other spLD.

Re safeguarding they may well ask you about confidentiality and sharing information with other tutors

Above all you should stress that you are a calm person not easily rattled and have a patient manner and that you would also be interested in doing any professional training that is offered

All the best - hope you get the job
