I remember the nightmare of taking ds2 to the Nativity last year, when he was just under 2. The thought of taking two at once........

Poor you - I've got to do the same thing with my DS (almost 2) tomorrow evening, at 6.15, when he'll be starving hungry and so particularly unlikely to cooperate. Hope it goes OK, and that you can actually get to see some of the nativity.

They won't let littlies into our dd's school Nativity, they do provide a creche though staffed by some of the midday assistants and staff!!

Oh good luck, im in the same situation dd1's very first nativity is tomorrow afternoon with a repeat performance Thrusday evening. I can't get a babysitter for either so im having to take my 3yr old dd2 along to the afternoon performance. Fingers crossed she behaves but it shouldnt be too bad as I know some other parents taking younger kids along. Im quite upset as I will have to miss the evening performance because fire and safety regulations state only 150 people can be in the hall at any one time. They have had to limit tickets so everyones parents can go plus they are not allowing children to the evening performance (well apart from those in the nativity of course).

Well at least you get to go - albeit it under stressful conditions!! My dd2 has come down with tummy bug and it looks like I won't get to see dd1 in the play either coz I can't get anyone to look after dd2 as yet .

snowfalls, can i suggest taking raisins or biscuits rather than crisps? it's only when you are straining to hear that you realise just how noisy a bag of crisps can be ...

I am taking ds2 9 mths and the18mth old i childmind to dd and ds1 play tomorrow.

Plan to stand at back for easy escape and force feed choc buttons!

Had to do that yesterday with my darling DTs. Took pitta bread, hummus, grapes, chopped pear and drinks. Stretched it out as long as I could.

Do you have any sympathetic, non-toddler owning friends who could sit with you and give a hand if necessary?

What time is it? Can you delay their sleep? That almost worked for me, but they woke when they heard the children.

Thankfully Dh was sent home from work early, so I managed to escape on my own
Lucky really as they were awake for some reason most of last night, so I put them down for a nap at 11am, and they were still zonked when I got back at 4pm
