Does anyone know if their secondary school child gets a magazine at school and if so what's it called? I mean something along the lines of The Primary Times that primary children get, rather than THE school magazine

I don't know of any that secondary schools around me get. The primary ones get Primary Times, Kids Direct and Little Tigers.

Oh, just remembered, they did get one produced specially for the summer holidays by the same publishers as the local newspaper. I think it was called Schools Out and it was just for Cheshire.

there is a magazine published by the gov't for primary and secondary schools, it comes out once each term. The schools have to request them - or parents can be sent a copy by phoning up. It's not bad, something for nothing I suppose. will try to find number...

Does anyone think it would be a good idea for me to start one? I think there's such a dearth of good material for that age group to read in the form a of a magazine, but not sure who advertisers would be- all input greatly appreciated

i agree, there is v little out there for little/young people in the way of magazines - there is one ( bayard ??) but v expensive for a subscrip. Lots of american mags aimed at youngers so am thinking of getting one for dd ( 4) there was a thread a few weeks ago about the magazine that I can't think of right now ( they didn't have any advertising though, it must have been an inhouse, or judging from the prices they charged, they didn't need advertisers!)

It would be a good idea to start one. I advertise with the primary school ones and our target age range includes children up to age 16 but we are more interested in targeting parents than the children themselves.

For a magazine aimed at the children it would have to be low cost items that they can afford with their pocket money/p/t jobs, junk food, music stuff etc.
