Thrass vs Jolly Phonics

I have really only used Jolly Phonics up to now, but some schools are moving over to Thrass, a different system of learning to read, write and spell.

Has anyone had experience of Thrass and how did your Infant school age children get on with it?

My DD loves it (she is nearly 8) and an ab fab speller

It has even taught me to spell and I was cr*p

My son had jolly phonics in reception, but now has thrass - looks good, so I will just be interested to see how this year goes.

Can anyone tell me what the difference is?

Is based on how you spell each sound ie. Cat, Kitten, School, Duck & Queen all sound the 'k' sound but are spelt differently - my six year old (YR1)is learning to spell really well and has learnt to read all her words for YR1 & YR2
Makes a lot more sense that C/K for "cat/kitten" or C (see) for "case"

Ds started with this, but due to a change of teacher is using a different method now.
