well he is at a state school so no help there. He is working through practice papers, but hates not knowing if it will be verbal or non verbal on the day. He is better at verbal, can do the non verbal but not up to speed yet. Maths is his best.

Thing is, he really wants to go after his visit, the school is one of the oldest in the country so the atmosphere is fab. However,it is only Boys Grammar for miles around so have at least 3 counties competing for 100 places!

I just tell him that he must do his best and trust that he will end uo at the school that is best for him.

DS is at state primary too

And they refuse to do any help

They said they may do some classes after half term after school

All they are interested in is preparing them for the SATS next MAY

We give him a MAths paper to do each weekend not the school

Why can't you ring up to ask if it is verbal or non verbal????????

Because the refuse to give out any info other than "testing good standards from all primary schools for which no further preparation is necessary. No past papers are available and no further info will be given"

Load of b*s as loads of kids go to a tutor for more than a year, it is known they use NFER papers, multi choice + an essay and they state either/or, will find out on day! Still, everyone is in same boat, but it seems a waste to practice something that won't be tested.
