Remarking A Level - advice needed

I wondered if any of the teachers who read the Mumsnet boards can advise me on the process for requesting a remark for an A level. My dd1 got her results on thurs...also her 18th birthday! She was delighted to get 3A's and a B, but then yesterday she received the mark breakdown, and she missed an A in the 4th exam by one mark. She wants to know the timeframe for the remarking process because she wants to reapply to Cambridge (they 'pooled' and then rejected her last year). I understand the initial appeal will just be a check of the addition of her marks, and that the actual remarking request has to come from the school, but that's all I know. Any advice really appreciated. (ps I am so proud of her )

I don't know anything about remarking exam papers I'm afraid. I just wanted to say congratulations to your daughter, she did brilliantly.

Thank you so much Angiel.
I posted here after having no luck searching the web yesterday. However, after posting my previous message, I found the following website via the Edexcel main site: Examzone . This gives the info for both A & AS level and GCSE, so other members of Mumsnet may find it useful. We have dd2's GCSE results next week - good luck to any other expectant Mumsnetters!

Ex0- exams officer here. She needs to talk to the school exams officer- and ask for a remark- not just an addition. If she gets it in quickly she should receive the result in a couple of weeks. It's definitely worth remarking if she missed by one mark. (In my exams officer days I would have told her to remark anyway).
