I put in a bid on a DVD on ebay a little while ago. This was a film that had been on TV before plus you can buy it cheap in the supermarkets anyway so let's be honest, no-one's going to pay loads for it on ebay....

The starting bid was 99p and there were quite a lot of days to go. I didn't remember to go onto ebay prior to the auction ending but next time I logged on, I noted that I had not won the DVD and that someone had put in a last minute bid of £1.04 and they had apparently won the item.

However, I then noted that the seller had then immediately relisted this DVD. I looked at the listing, and he's now got it on for £3.99 starting bid.

It's so obvious that he's got a mate to shill bid at the end to try and get a better price and ultimately, he didn't want to sell it to me for 99p.

I appreciate all that but surely, if you aren't prepared to sell things for your lowest bid, then don't farking well start the auction at that price, then!

Surely, this ebayer is taking the piss and "not playing the game". I think potential buyers should be warned that this guy's auctions are not fair and they potentially will end up paying inflated, unfair prices. Can I complain about him to ebay and if so, how would I do it?

I would definately contact them. Ebay is going down hill and they need to start doing something about it. I'm not sure how you contact them, maybe look in the help section on ebay

That had occurred to me MissAnne although if I were a gambling woman, I would say the item he has relisted was "my" DVD - call me cynical?

Anyway, no-one's bidded on his new auction and i'm certainly not going to so HA!I'd rather go out and pay £10 for it at WHSmiths.

Perhaps he will realize he is being vastly over-optimistic and re-list at the original price..

I noticed someone had bid (yeah right) up to £35 for a Playmobil camper the other week, when others are going quite happily for about £23 new and £17 second hand.....makes me mad too.....
