eBay

Can a member be reported for sending a rude/threatening message?

I bought a bundle of clothes off of ebay that were not in 'as new' condition when they arrived despite being descibed as such. They stank, some were very wash worn, a couple weren't even the right size and some had a few marks on them. The seller also sent the parcel 'standard parcels' instead of the 'first class' service they said that they would use. I e-mailed them and said pretty much what I have said above but with a little more explanation. They then sent me an e-mail that basically said I was a liar and they wouldn't accept anything that I had said. So, I left negative feedback as the seller can't give me negative feedback. They responded starting with the words UR A LIAR and have sent me an e-mail that is very rude and are threatening to list me on some sort of website that will warn other sellers to not trade with me. As this guy only had 10 good feedback ratings, his feedback percentage is now down to 80% because of me and I can understand that this has angered him. But, is it really necessary to send such a rude e-mail? Can I report him?

I've found a way of contacting ebay about it. I'm not sure that they'll do much about though as he isn't being physically threatening. All of hte e-mails have been sent via ebay so I guess that ebay will be able to access them. Ah well, maybe they'll decide that he is a nutter who needs to be banned.

Sounds like someone I had on mine what was the sellers name?

I'm not going to put his name down here as that is no better than him going onto websites to defame me. I've taken the matter up with ebay and they are dealing with it now. They also say that I should file a paypal complaint and if that fails an ebay one for the item not being as described. The thing is, I've now washed the clothes a few times and managed to remove most of the marks and the smell so I don't know how well I will be able to prove my case. I'm also not that bothered about getting a refund as I did manage to get the clothes cheaply and would have paid that amount if I had known what state they were going to be in. What really grates is his attitude and that he thinks he can tell me that I'm a stupid liar and then threaten me. Ebay is based on honesty and trust and this seller gives ebay a really bad name. I don't want other people put off of buying goods from me in case they think that I'm the liar!

Type something like 'reporting abuse' into the help bar. I've reported someone before and they had been rude tom someone else and their account was suspended. You'll have to send them a copy of the email they sent. Let us know how you get on.
Some people have very strange ideas about what consititues 'good condition'.

Thanks wotulookinat. That's exactly what I've done and I'm waiting to find out if the person is going to have their account suspended. Ebay have also told me to file a paypal claim but I'm not sure that I want to as I don't want any more abuse from the guy.

If he does say rude things through the Paypal dispute, you stand a brilliant chance of getting your cash back! You might as well, I think.
