Buy it now or maximum bid?

Just wanted to know that if you put a maximum bid that is the same as the BIN price, does it automatically proceed to BIN checkout or wait till someone else puts a higher bid? I'm willing to pay the BIN price but wondered whether I could get it for less by putting a max bid, if someone else does a BIN on this item, does that mean that I've been "outbid"? Hope that made sense!

i imagine it will just end the bin price and your bid would be the start price.

the minute you put a bid on it will go to the minimum starting bid which will be just over starting price. This will get rid of the buy if now unless seller has set a reserve. There is a chance it can go higher than the buy it now. I've seen it loads of times. If younwant it buy it

"The Buy It Now option is only shown on listings until an item receives its first bid. For a Reserve Price Listing, the Buy It Now option is shown until the reserve is met"

Are there any bids yet?

To buy via BIN you have to click the BIN button, so I think it depends on whether there is a reserve price or not

If you bid and there is no reserve then the BIN option will disappear

Hope this makes some sense
