Some people!! What do I reply to this novice ebayer??

Sold something a few days ago, no sign of payment so I emailed them today to explain that I would be away for a while as from Thursday but I would post tomorrow if they paid today/tonight.

I get an email back simply saying "I don't want them any more thank you".

FFS! Why bid then, you half-wit.

I'm resisting the urge to reply straight away for fear of being quite rude in my response.

What would you say to them?

I would explain that ebay is not a reservation system. If you bid on something you must buy it if your the winner

id be furious, but they aren't going to apy, especially if they are a novice. File a NPB and relist.

Don't say anything...yet. Unless you're in a hurry to relist, report the item unpaid, ebay will send a reminder, then issue a dispute against them. Before this point, tell them that you will need to claim your fees back (don't say 'it's Ok, I forgive you' just stick to the facts).
Say 'ebay will send you some emails about the dispute as they call it, don't worry about them, just ignore them and I will eventually get my fees repaid.'
Then when they don't respond to the dispute, they get a strike (3 in a short time and they get booted off) and you can leave them dodgy feedback - but the beauty of it is that because they didn't respond to the dispute, they can't leave you any at all.

I'd email back and say he has now committed to buy. maybe point him to parts in the help pages that explains what this means and the consequences should he fail.
Should he refuse to to pay then file for non payment, get your fees back and he will receive a strike.

The complete fuckwit buyer only has a rating of 1 so they've got nothing to lose by just refusing to pay. Plus they'll probably give me crap feedback just to add insult to injury.

I agree with SLM... Just explain that he doesn't have the right to back out now he's won the item... that's not your rule, that's E-bay policy...

Open a dispute and leave it at that for now.

Keep correspondence light and friendly, but keep everything.

You might not be able to force this numpty to pay up, but you will get your fees back and will be able to relist for free.

personally I wouldnt bother replying I would just start the NPD process then when he doesnt reply, twats like this novices rarely do give him a negative
