You can work out exact price on Royal Mail Website, you need dimensions of parcel.
I recently used www.parcels2go.com for a UK delivery when the postal strike was on. The're price was very reasonable and the delivery was done via dhl. Only drawback was haveing to wait in all day for the parcel to be collected.

yeah, hit the button that says 'find exact price' and fill in the details.

it's going to be a LOT

like more than £80

this might sound like a ridiculous idea, but my family used to do it quite a lot to Poland - though this was about 15 years ago - post a notice in a polish shop/cafe window asking if anyone is going to poland soon and if they would take the stuff for you, for a reasonable fee... that might work if you can arrange for it to be picked up at the other end.. we were sending it to family in Warsaw so it was easy enough for them to meet the coach/flight and pick it up then.
