I sold my breast pump on ebay just over 2 months ago, when I packaged it I couldn't quite get all the bits in the box (isn't that always the case lol) and because I had a lot of spares from the original pump being replaced but I was left with all the accessories too I included all those, which included pretty much all accessories except the main bit of pump which was returned. As they didn't all fit I packed most into the box and added the rest in a carrier bag, wrapped up into the parcel and informed buyer that they were packaged seperately.

I was left positive feedback, and now a few months on the buyer has contacted me saying the pump was missing. I emailed back confused saying I knew I packed it and she'd have missed it on inspection, and received another email saying they'd gone out, bought another, and now discovered a number of other parts missing too, and wanted replacements or the money refunded.

I emailed back -completely- confused and said had they checked the bag, and under the plastic in the box because I counted all the parts in and got another email today saying they need to trust me, they definately aren't there.

Well I'm sure they aren't here, and I'm sure I packaged and posted it correctly. They're emailing asking that I sort it out, but I don't physically have the items here, and I don't have the money to refund either... what should I do?

I really don't think they can expect you to refund them after a few months. I don't know if eBay have a policy on this, but I would have thought it would have been up to them to check everything was there in a timely fashion, say one month after receipt.

FWIW, I believe you, I'm sure they've thrown it out by mistake.

They have left positive feedback, they have left it wayyy to long to complain .Just say sorry, I did pack it and I know I it was there...are you really telling me you have took this long to look at it? Or something along those lines.

They left feedback saying 'perfect, item as described!' my friend thinks they either broke it or just don't want it, as I'm -sure- it was them at the time that said their baby was due right then and needed it delivered pronto. Could be mistaken as I sold a lot of things around then, but their excuse is they haven't missed it until now as they haven't had the baby yet.

Should I contact ebay and ask their advice?

Well if they left good feedback saying it was perfect and "exactly as descirbed" they didn't look very closely. Ignore. They sound like they're trying it on.

Okay I feel a bit bad for doubting them because I've just noticed the baby was due in October

Still, I'm positive I posted the item...

Hi, I am new to mumsnet so waves to everyone. I just thought i had to reply that i sold my breast pump a few months ago and had the buyer saying one min she wanted it then she did'nt then when i posted it she said she did not want the item and was sending it back as it was not as described (it was brand new in box and the description was on the website duh) i told her it was fine but i would only refund her what she paid for the product not the p&p costs. She got really funny then told me it was not for her it was for her sister and i just had so much crap that she was making excuses not to have the item. She then told me parts was missing which i could not see how as it was still in cellaphane. In the end i just told her she has messed me around too much she either sends the item back exactly as it was or keep the item. I never had a reply after that. I wonder if its the same person. I think you can contact ebay and open a dispute and they will look into it but with that the buyer usually wins unless she does not reply then you will win.

Hope you get it sorted!!!

Clare.
