eBay

This seems a bit suspicious

I'm bidding on a Thomas set, and there one bidder who keeps coming back and raising the bids - but when you click on his profile, the only feedback is from the seller of the Thomas item I'm bidding for.

Does that seem a bit weird or just coincidence?

weird. Report to ebay for possible shill bidding and they'll investigate

maybe he lost the original set,or it was damaged, and he needs to urgently replace it for his child?

It does seem suspicious. I would either set up a snipe so that you bid at the last minute, or just let it go and see if the seller puts the same item back on.

oh I miss read the op. sorry.

could well be shill bidding. Feedback could be when s/he has won the item as pushed bids too high and won by mistake.

Well he's left feedback on the 9th and 10th September so maybe it was for something else...

OK, so how do I report to ebay, and do I do it now, with 30 mins to go before the end of the bidding, or do I sniper in at the last minute with a bid?

And yes, I am a bit of newbie at ebay!

Thank you ebay experts!

Seller is in hitchin, 'bidder' is in 'United Kingdom'

Are you being outbid straight away? If so the other bidder has just made a large bid to start with.

I haven't bid yet I was going to snipe in at the last minute with what I'm prepared to pay. There aren't any bids at the moment, so I can't see how its panning out.

22 mins to go...

What is the ebay id, if you do an advance search it should come up with where they live not just united kingdom.

I had a look and he has only put in three bids, others are bidding and he outbids them automatically because his bid is higher which is why it look likes he is bidding so many times.

GOOD TIP. I think I've foiled a plan... Bidder also lives in hertfordshire.

No thomas set tonight then.

I don't know what to do.

Can I buy it and then report my worries?

I don't know why they would do thst!!!

The price will probably go up really quickly in the last couple of minutes.

Sniper in at the last minute. I didn't even try. I don't think it was a fix though.

DH was lurking next to me so I couldn't justify coming in with a large last minute bid.

It went for £77.

The picture with the naked child in the background is a bit worrying shorly they could have asked him to move

Isababel · 14/10/2007 20:14

I would be worried about the picture too, particularly if that person is going to know that I have a child and my address.
