I bought a bra from Figleaves ebay store, paid by paypal
They sent the wrong size (I checked the order - I ordered the correct size, they sent wrong one).
I paid for delivery postage and will need to pay to post it back. They have said they will accept it as a return and will refund my postage costs (as it's their mistake) but only in the form of a voucher for their online store rather than by paypal, stating that 'paypal will not let them refund more than the original article cost'.
On the one had I'm glad they have offered to cover postal costs, but on the other I'm not happy that it's in the form of a voucher for their store. They also want me to send 'a receipt' of my return postal costs to them (I expect i could take a photo and email that but still a faff)

WWYD - accept that or push for postal costs to be repaid by paypal. I don't really want a voucher as I may not buy from them again.

It's not at ebay dispute stage yet, have just exchanged ebay messages.

They could refund your original payment (yes, they couldn't refund more, obviously) but they could pay you the return postage separately. They're being rather dodgy disingenuous there. I'd be chasing.

Raise a dispute with EBay - they should send you a prepaid return label or arrange collection, as it is their mistake. Do not accept a voucher.

Open a dispute on ebay-they will find in your favour and you will get refunded plus a prepaid return postage label.

If they send a prepaid return label or arrange collection I'm still out of pocket for the original postage though.

No you won't be. You will be refunded in FULL, inc the original postage.

I'm suprised such a large company as figleaves is trying to pull a fast one!

PS don't pay for return postage and expect to get it back. eBay can't force sellers to refund return postage retrospectively. As advised just open a dispute then use the prepaid returns label for a full refund of the item cost and original postage.

Right, thanks, I'll go with that plan...ask for full refund including initial postage costs, and prepaid return thing.
To be fair to Figleaves, they were quick to apologise for the wrong size bra being sent out, it's only the postage-as-voucher issue that hasn't been particularly impressive. Hopefully that can be resolved with what you suggest 19Lottie....if not I shall open a case and point out this thread to them!

As others have said, my understanding is that they should send a prepaid label for the return, and refund the item and postage as well. You should not be out of pocket for this- open a case with eBay if you have to.

Oops, sorry- cross posted Seal

If eBay or PayPal are preventing them from refunding more than the item cost, ask them to send you a cheque or postal order. They sound pretty unreasonable.

hockey there's no need for that, and it would be a whole lot of hassle - all they have to do is send a returns label.

And TBH, you're always best opening a case for a return, as it keeps everything on record....... And the seller can't back track.

OK I will open a case. I assumed that I would only get refunded the cost of the bra doing that though. If I do it as 'item not as described' (which it wasn't) then will it automatically include the original delivery postage cost?

It was 'not as described' though - you ordered size x, they sent you size y.

Spy is correct, the item ISNT as described.

Yes you will be given a pre paid label to return the bra. Once delivery is attempted, you will be refunded the item cost price and the original postage cost.

Looks like a resolution to this - Figleaves have agreed a full refund and have supplied a prepaid return label Smile. Wonder why they didn't in the first place! Maybe just a customer services staff member unfamiliar with ebay ways.
Thanks again everyone.
