Sold an outfit which had fabric on a historical theme (I will let you guess which one) sent it to the buyer at a school - slightly unusual for me. Few days later buyer wishes to return as it doesn't quite fit - slightly too big. Quick look at the school website to see that the latest topic is Ancient Egypt....have you guessed the fabric design yet? oh and they will be sending it back next week when they have time.

Thanks for that! Bloody hell. and there is no point arguing. Perhaps I am being a bit cynical and they really wanted it to keep....

Cheeky so and sos!!!

Is "too big" even a legitimate reason to return?

I know. Well I am not refunding postage that's for sure.

Have you left feedback yet? When the item is returned I'd leave a comment along the lines of 'buyer paid quickly and although item was not suitable buyer returned item for a full refund after x days.'
It won't change your case but at least anyone else checking their feedback will get a sense of what sort of buyer they are.

Next time add lots of measurements to the listing, with photos of a tape measure next to the bit you're measuring. State that buyers are responsible for reading the listing and checking measurements are suitable. State you will not return if the item doesn't fit.

Arf lol love that!
As for measurements I am the queen of that - every possible measurement given - buyer even said there wasn't any problem with description - she was just "unlucky" it wasn't quite right. Unlucky my arse!

It was not the kind of outfit that would be easy to find - a vintage one with most definite Egyptian theme - I know it would have been very appropriate and gone down well but if there is any sign it has been worn I am saying something. I would never do that. I mean, sell on if you aren't going to use again.
