eBay

Seller refusing to accept return - poor condition pushchair

We bought a Phil and Teds pushchair on ebay, admittedly it went for a very low price and I sent DH to pick up (he paid cash). I took it out of the car today, it is covered in marks, smells musty, has three flat tyres and a screw missing so the handlebar doesn't stay on. The seller is refusing to refund saying it was 'sold as seen' and is a bargain at the price! Can I ask ebay to refund given that we have paid cash? really cross about it.

Did you DH not notice any of that when he collected it?

I think as you paid cash and are supposed to check it over first eBay won't be able to refund you?

DH says it was dark and he didn't notice Confused. Neither of us realised from the listing that there was a chance of it being in such poor condition (lesson learned).

I'm afraid because you paid cash, you have no recourse via eBay.
The seller is right, it was indeed, "sold as seen". The person you should be cross with is your DH, I'm afraid!

How much was it?

I got a p&t from eBay and whilst a bit roughed up it was only £10. All those things seem fixable for under £20.

New tyres, eBay again Grin
Screw at Home base or what have you. WD40 all moving parts. Scrub, febreeze, happy days.

Well it was cheap for one in good condition -£51. But not if I need to get it fixed, wheel inner tubes will be£7 each

What did the item description say? Did it mention these flaws? I think you will just have to accept it and make the most of it for as little extra expense as possible but you could leave negative feedback if you feel that the description was misleading. Tbh though that is darn cheap for Phil & teds so I would really expect it to need repair for that price! Ours was from ebay in good condition (didn't need anything doing to it) and I got it on best offer for £150 which I thought was very cheap and was very happy with that.

There was nothing in the description about the condition, it just said 'durable and reliable' pushchair. I have never left bad feedback and have been on eBay for 12 years but left some this time.

I ended up buying another P&t sport for £60 instead which has brand new inner tubes and the cocoon and footmuff included. So now I need to offload the other one as my house is looking like a pram park Grin

If you make the necessary repairs on it you could probably make a profit on the damaged one Grin
