If I cancel the sale can they give me negative feedback?

Sold something yesterday. Buyer still hasn't paid.

Anyway, managed to drop it on the floor today and it's broken (makeup - totally ruined).

If I request to cancel the sale can the buyer leave me a negative? I have 100% (400 transactions) and would like to keep it intact.

Thanks in advance.

yes they can leave neg, so you must grovel.

Send them a picture & a grovelling apology. Send a cancel request (with refund if they paid by then) and add another grovel message of apology with the refund.

IN spite of stories you hear, most people can't be arsed to be total arses so if you sound genuine & have the picture they will probably not neg U and even let you get your fees back.

They can , but if you message them and then raise it as a cancellation with eBay if the buyer agrees then it can be removed from yours and their history's. I had this with a seller but theirs was a really annoying reason, I'd bought and paid for a clinique foundation (£8) then got a message saying that it was an accident and they'd set £8 as a buy it now price when it was supposed to be a starting price. I got annoyed a little and contacted eBay, they said seller had to contact them to cancel the transaction.

If you cancel the sale, saying you no longer have the item, then you will still get a defect, which has the same effect on your account as negative feedback........
