I am a long time EBay buyer who selling 6 months ago. I have 100% feedback.

I sell a lot of makeup (duplicates and stuff I've blind bought that isn't the right colour etc). I've been making 'bundles' as I find this a more lucrative and easy way to sell.

I had a bundle for sale and it sold today. The value was £100 + postage.

The money is in my Paypal balance but I can't withdraw it to my back account. I've had an email from PayPal saying the transaction is 'under review'.

Has anyone experienced this? Does it mean there's something shady about the buyer or that PayPal suspect I'm shady??

I don't know why it's happened or what happens next. Confused Confused.

It could be either of the thing you say or it could be if your usual transactions are less than this then they will want to know the item has been received before they release the funds to you.

But isn't that a dangerous thing to do on my part?

I feel very reluctant to post an item without the money being in my bank account.

We sold gig tickets a few years ago for £500 and this didn't happen. It could be a new policy by PayPal or EBay though.

Grrr I was delighted to see it had sold and now I can't access the money Sad

Are there rules against used makeup sales?

I never get 'cleared funds' from eBay until about two weeks after I've posted the item, it's really annoying because it means I have to pay all the postage costs upfront. I just assumed it was like this for everyone and that funds didn't clear until the buyer had received the item.

PayPal hold it so you just need to make sure you have proof of delivery (not postage) and not post it till PayPal say it's fine to post out.

If you recent items have been smaller prices I know that's a trigger. At work we had a nice simple system going with small items until my boss insisted we list all the high end stuff too and then PayPal and eBay wanted all sorts from us.

Also you could see if you are totally verified with eBay and PayPal. That can help speed thing along too.

Once you are totally verified then you can access your money and withdrawer to your bank within 2 hours,I know for the first 6 months when I started selling I had to wait until confirmation of item received or 21 days which ever came first.

paypal will notify you when it is okay to send it, dont do it before then because you may not be covered by there protection. I have had this happen before, its nothing dodgy just happens sometimes if they have changed accounts, updated info, etc.
