I sold a bundle of ladies top on eBay. Went to pack it this morning and noticed that one of the tops has a stain at the back! Now I haven't got a clue what I should do. Message buyer and ask what she wants me to do? refund a small part of final sale? I should have checked it properly before listing. Crap.
Thank you

Message the buyer with an apology and offer a part refund if they still want the bundle or full refund if they want to cancel. Can it be salvaged?

Will it wash out? Hand wash it and dry quickly?
If not, take a photo, send it to buyer, offer part refund or opportunity to cancel deal.

I'd try washing/stain remover first then if that fails I'd contact the buyer, apologise for not noticing it before and offer to refund a bit of money or ask if they want to cancel transaction.

Thank you. Will try getting stain out first.

Just contact the buyer and see what she wants to do. I once realised when packaging that a skirt had a hole in. I offered to reduce the price if the buyer still wanted it (it was repairable) and she did. No problems.

This has happened to me, I mistakenly listed a blazer as new when it was clearly used - I was listing a few things and the previous item was new, I forgot to change it.

I apologised profusely, sent photos of the wear, offered a partial refund, or free P&P, or to cancel the transaction. The buyer was fine, accepted the discount and all was well. It happens.

I'd definitely send a photo if you can though, just to prove you're not trying to get out of the sale.
