I have a question about a return request

I haven't experienced this official returns process before (is it new?). I've had an email today, from eBay, to say that buyer wants to return an item for refund. I know that I need to accept a return but the options eBay are giving include me prepaying the return postage.

Is there a way around this? Or do I have to just suck it up and pay it? Also, if I have to pay the return postage, how is that worked out?

You have to suck it up, they bill you thru Paypal, they have set amounts they have worked out that you will be charged, sorry :(.

That's rubbish for the seller Sad

Buyer has ticked the box to say item was damaged in the post then put in the message that it wasn't too damaged but they didn't want to pay the price they did Confused (it was a fixed price item so not like they got carried away with the bidding).

Ho hum, will go and investigate what PP think is an acceptable amount to charge me for return postage Hmm

Grrrr!! They want 3 1/2 times the original postage cost!!

How would sending my own label work?

This new returns business is absolutely dire, I'm a business seller retailing custom products but anyone can return an item and I am obliged to pay the postage. The result? The prices shoot up.
