20 free listings a month… how can you check how many you've used?

I know it seems obvious (i.e. count them) but some are re lists plus each get listed three times for free
Is there a quick way, a total somewhere, to know how many are used? (i.e. listed for the first time)

can't seem to find it? it just says I'm selling 38 items.. but a lot of those are re lists because it will re list for free up to three times.. so I am not sure how many of my 20 i have used as 'first time'

i guess i'll know if i try to list something and it charges me 35p! but would like to know how many i have left so i can prioritise which i am going to list for free and which might merit a 35p fee

From 'My eBay' on the left hand side there is a column of buying, watching, etc - select 'all selling' - you may have to open up using the arrow next to where it says 'sell'.

oh that is what i did before. No, it just says i'm currently selling 38 items. Yet I know i've listed less than 20 for July. so a lot of them are the re lists .
Only way of knowing is going to be to write it down every time i list something from scratch i guess

(it does the re lists automatically, if you tick a box when you list it the first time). (hence my confusion)

If you scroll right down the list where your items listed for sale keep scrolling down past unsold items etc and you will find a section that says "20 free listings and it will give you the amount active and the amount you have used. Don't put anything on to-day as people are being invited to do 100 free listings for 4 days from to-morrow the 26th so wait and see if you get an invite first before paying 35p an advert.
