eBay

Ebay for charity. Anyone selling on behalf of a charity?

I volunteer for a charity shop and have suggested selling some unusual items on Ebay to maximise exposure as we are situated away from the town centre and therefore do not attract much custom. The managers (4 of them) between them have agreed that it is a good idea but no one seems to have taken this any further.

The manager who has read up on it and wants to set up the account seems too busy to take this on and another manager has asked me to somehow chivvy her along by offering to look after the account but as I'm not an authorised person with the organisation's account, I don't really want to step on her toes but at the same time, we seem to be missing a great opportunity here. Where does one start? Also if you've had experience, I would be very grateful if you could share it here. Thank you.

Have a look at the British heart foundation EBay account for inspiration, it is very well run. Maybe someone there will give you a few pointers. Good luck.

If you go to the help forum on eBay they have very comprehensive guides to selling which will guide you through the process. Bit long winded to go through it all here :)

Yep, I give 10% to Women's Aid or Mind. It took ages to find out how to get the option on my 'sell an item' form - but the info exists, and was v. easy once I'd found it! Good luck :)

Thanks for the replies, those are all good suggestions but I'll go through them and see which ones are feasible.
Thanks again.
