Which Courier? And how to charge postage?

Hi all,

I'm about to start listing some bits on ebay (having a huge clear out) and was wondering which courier you would recommend?

For non collection only bits would you recommend combining postage and starting bid price (so list something as £5 but free delivery) or a lower starting price and then add postage?

I'm going to put big bits on gumtree or preloved or do you think they are worth putting on ebay first?

I'd appreciate any advice, as I'm more of a buyer than seller!!

TIA

I use Hermes - £2.98 if under 1kg, so I charge £3.30 to include the 10% final value fee, and they collect and of course items are tracked too.

End items in the evening - you can schedule for free now. Start at the lowest you will accept, or do buy it now with best offer, free postage is good as it protects your star rating. Check completed items to see what price you should charge.

Thanks.

Unfortunately Hermes and I are no longer friends after they've not even bothered responding to my complaint after they trashed a present I sent to my da.

Didn't know I could schedule times though, thank you.

Collect plus is probably next courier to try.

I think it puts buyers off to have item with "free postage"; psychologically they think it's cheaper if postage is separate Confused and the sorting by price+postage tool doesn't always work correctly (argh). On the other hand, inclusive postage means they can't trash your stars. No perfect remedy. I use inclusive when I sell.

If the bits are clothes I think easier to sell on gumtree or FB.

Hermes responded when I claimed - you need to fill in a form online and then they will refund.
