Are you doing buy it now or auction?

Are you offering postage or collection only?

Have you took different pictures/angles of the items?

try gumtree or freeads instead. And only take cash if collected.

Collection only as he is a shop and people would be put off by the postage!

Have you got high starting prices?

Report
CatsCantTwerk · 09/06/2014 16:25

I have just looked and your starting price is very high. It will put a lot of buyers off.

TheReluctantCountess · 09/06/2014 16:26

I've had a look and it's not cheap. People like a bargain on Ebay.

Can you post a link?

Because in searching for clover carpets I can only find carpets shaped like 4 leaf clovers Grin

www.ebay.co.uk/sch/clovercarpets/m.html

I would also advise doing some buying on there to get your feedback up, You have 0 feedback which will not help with high prices also.

I thought it would be the price. :(

It is too expensive.

CatsCantTwerk · 09/06/2014 16:33

If that is the price you ant for them, put them on BIN not bids.

Sleepingbunnies · 09/06/2014 16:34

It's all brand new furniture / rugs.. How much should I lower the price by? I will show this to my dad and see if he can do it.

I can't seem to put on a BIN without putting a starting price in?

Ah yes - its the price. People want bargains on ebay - if you want to sell these on auction the price has to be reduced considerably.

You used to need to get yourself a feedback score of 10 plus so that paypal covers buyers purchases.

The descriptions lack many search triggers. For example if you search rug you bring up 200,556 listings. So you then add search criteria like dimensions, colours etc. so if you describe it as

'contemporary rug, beige, grey 1.2m x 1.4m (4ft x 4ft 8)' flat weave NEW

You're more likely to hit peoples search criteria.

Would you wrap and allow courier collection to be arranged by buyer?

Would you courier at the risk that distance selling regs mean you could get returns?

LilyBobtail · 09/06/2014 16:42

I would also add more to the descriptions - ie what are they made of. Are they a brand name etc.

Report
lynniep · 09/06/2014 16:43

Also for instance update the titles e.g. 'coffee table' change to 'Stunning Viva Modern Large Coffee table - oak veneer 110 x 60cm Brand New Glass Shelf' or something like that

Don't think he particularly wants to 'sell the at auction' he would prefer BIN but I can't do it. It says I have to enter a starting bid?!

Thank you for the help with the descriptions! mumnotmaid

Even on a fixed price listing is £80 really too much for a brand new coffee table?

I think you should reduce the prices by 50%.
