So I sold a swimsuit and got this message today.

I win a bid for swimsuit, and I hope if is not the problem, to give you my friend paypal email address where you can send invoice through your paypal, because I live in Serbia.
Sorry, but I must send you like photo, because ebay dont allow me to type you some other mail adress.
Please inform me when you send invoice and accept payment. I will give you address in London where you can send package when you recieve payment.

I've no idea what I'm meant to do?! Invoice this other PayPal address? No idea.

Anyone?

It sounds a bit odd. I thought people from other countries still had access to Paypal to pay themselves though? Confused

Yes eBay do not allow email addresses in eBay messages. I would invoice the other PayPal address with the cost of tracking/signed for postage and if they pay for it I would send it.

I am not sure I would like to do that, it's definitely unusual to say the least. Is it because Serbia is on a list of places you don't post to so they can't check out normally?

Their friend can log into the buyer's account and pay using a different paypal address. OP doesn't need to do anything, and OP must send to the Paypal address to have Paypal protection (I think, have read odd things about this on discussion boards).

Yes you must always send to the confirmed paypal address,

if their friend pays through their paypal account, you have to send it to the address on their paypal account.

I think that is Ok.

They're now hassling me 'have you invoiced me yet' as apparently their friend leaves for Serbia on Sunday. So they want it there (London) by sat I'm guessing. They're making me feel quite uneasy about it and I don't know what to do.
Contacted eBay support and they basically said be it on my head if I do it?

Reply saying you cannot invoice to the other PayPal address but they can psy with it from their end.

If they want you to send to an address that is not on their PayPal account then they need to add a gift address and you can then send it to that.

This way you will both receive protection.

Mean old Ebayer alert here :) I have found that 9 times out of 10, ANY request that deviates from the norm is not worth the hassle. My standard answer is No. Can you organise courier (on collect only listing) - NO. Can you send to my friend in Outer Mongolia - NO. Can you change listing to include for XYZ or postage to Outer Space - NO.

If that was my sale, I would cancel the transaction and relist for UK only. All my listings are UK only now because any time I have ever sent anything abroad it has been a hassle of some sort, and especially if it's a tuppence ha'penny kind of item of clothing, it aint worth the mental bother.

Credentials: 10 years and counting Ebay experience. 1500+ 100% positive feedbacks (countless more I haven't been bothered to feedback on and likewise) I'm not a business seller either.

PS When I say cancel, advise the item is no longer available - it had a tear in it or something you hadn't noticed (this can genuinely happen). You need to keep them sweet and finish off the transaction in a way that doens't leave you open to negative feedback. I ALWAYS pepper my correspondence with "Thank you so much", "valued customer" "Kind regards" "So very sorry but... " "Please accept my apologies" etc. It's hard for people to take offence in the face of such pleasantness :)

I wouldn't do it either, and I would prob do a non paying bidder case against them so they can't leave a neg then either. And I would add them to my blocked bidder list too.

Anyone can use any Paypal account (they have passwords for etc.) to pay the invoice as long as they can access the Buyer's account. It's not rocket science! OP just needs to tell buyer to let their friend have login details.
