Reselling an item bought on eBay

I bought a bag on eBay, and have received it this morning. It's as described just smaller than I thought (I should have checked) and to be honest I don't think I'll use it.

The seller accepts refunds but I reckon I might be able to sell it for the same price if not more. Is it 'bad form' to resell rather than return?

If you think you can sell it on and get your money back or make a profit, why on earth not?

You bought the item off her, she didn't give it to you or offer it for charity.

True, it just feels a bit 'wrong', (esp if I make more) but I'm just being silly. Thanks for that bit of clarity I was missing!

I've done it a few times, I think it's fine! The main thing with selling on eBay is you're honest about the condition.

Resell it, definitely. Don't feel bad about it. Don't explain it's smaller than you wanted etc. It could be someone else's perfect size but you will cast a negative on it (same for saying you are selling a dress as it doesn't fit) generally, in 10 years of Ebay, people like short, sharp, highly accurate descriptions without a personal cast to it (same as if you were buying from a high street store, you wouldn't see a bag described as "reselling as too small for me" Grin Just the basic facts and condition of the bag are required.

There's no guarantees of making more and in fact you might make less. I take a long-term view of Ebay - I win some, I lose some. I have had some amazing bargains and some humungous humdingers. All the fun of the fair Smile
