Hi my friend has been really great and given us LOADS of clothes for my daughter (she has 2 daughters). Some things I've bought off her (mainly substantial toys/prams etc). Most of the clothes I get are not from expensive shops but mainly supermarket brands etc. some stuff I give to charity if it doesn't suit my daughter or if its past its best but occasionally she gives us really good stuff. I've told her she should put stuff on eBay but as she has a demanding job she goes naw can't be bothered. My daughter received a smart jacket from my friend but will my daughter wear it????? No she hates it. Thinking of putting it on eBay but dh says I should give it back and that I shouldn't do that kind of thing. But I think what's the harm if she can't be bothered putting it on eBay and I can't use it because my dd2 is being stubborn? What would you do? Dh has made me paranoid!

Ask her if she minds you putting it on EBay and you can share a y profits with her?

I wouldn't do this without her approval.

It's like selling things you got in Freecycle. It's just not 'done'.

I've sold stuff on eBay that we have been given as hand me downs. I kind of think they had the option of selling it or giving it away and they choose to give it away. I choose to sell stuff on and if it doesn't sell, charity shop it. I have given stuff away to friends if I think they will appreciate it, but wouldn't mind if they sold it on if they didn't like it or when they had finished. It was my choice to give it away and once given it is up to them what they do with it.

I get given lots of handme downs and things people I know don't know what to do with. I ebay them either for them and give them the profit or if they've been gifted to the DC like clothes etc I share the sale amount.

My sister has a boy and a girl i have older boys and a younger girl so she gets boy stuff from me I get girl stuff from her, I sell all the spare stuff and we split the profit between the DC's savings accounts.

I'd ask your friend if she'd like stuff back that you don't feel you'd use or would she like you to sell it and share the money.
