eBay

Negative feedback, grrr!

I sell quite often on eBay and have 400+ positive feedback - never had a neutral or negative until today!

Sold some maternity jeans with elastic 'straps, inside the waistband to tighten/loosen the waist as needed. I stated in the listing quite clearly that these elastic straps were visually quite tatty but did not effect their use and also as they're INSIDE the jeans, nobody can actually see them!

Fast forward to today, buyer left negative feedback without contacting me first to try to resolve the issue (I'd have refunded if they returned the item) and stated on their feedback that the negative was due to the tatty elastic straps!

I think it's unfair as I did state this in my listing and also the buyer hasn't tried to contact me first. I've politely messaged them stating more or less what I've said here but is there anything I can do about this? Surely if they were totally against resolving the issue and leaving a positive, a neutral would have been at least more appropriate!!

I would leave a response then contact ebay live chat and ask them to remove it - worth a try anyway.

Just add a response: "Defect clearly stated in listing but sorry you were unhappy"

As a potential buyer, this would not put me off and it makes you sound very reasonable and nice.

Annoying though.

agree with tryharder. Just keep the responce polite rather than having a go at them like some people do and it wouldn't put me off bidding. I'd also add into the responce that you would have been happy to refund if they had returned, makes you sound very reasonable
