Strange feedback

Sold a jacket and said in description it was small fitting.

Have now been left feedback - positive mind you but it said not a 18 more like a 16.

But I said that in the description.

Do people not read descriptions anymore?

no!! they really, really do not. I was sick of people messaging me with their offers (when i don't do 'make me an offer'). eg if item is £15...inevitable i will get a message saying 'i will give you £2.50 inc postage' that kind of thing Hmm So recently i've been putting in big bold letters, that 'this is a buy it now listing, not a 'make me an offer' listing' or 'this is an auction style listing , not a make me an offer listing' . No change! So i'm selling something right now, for £89 inc postage and it's the only one on ebay and has been very sought after...so i put the 'disclaimer' in bold letters and lo and behold a message pops through.. 'i will give you £45 inc postage' I ignore this and get another message 'I'm giving you until 10.30 tonight to take my offer. You need to reply before 10.30 Shock ( I didn't)

and btw , i do keep my prices really fair, and low, with a lot of free postage.. my average listing starts at 99p too!

So i'm now having to put, that i don't reply to those kind of messages! Which sounds kind of rude...but i'm sick of getting them, when my prices are so fair, often i make a loss, and i have 100% feedback on over 3000 sold items..

If something comes up small for its label size, I always put the measurements in so they can't complain (but inevitably, they still will..as they don't read!)

I've had people message me to make stupid offers on items that have sold. For the full BIN price Confused

Buyers are strange creatures

Had an offer for a dress for £5. It went for £30.

I always read descriptions. I must be odd.

We get this too, I reported one buyer to eBay for being downright sarcastic, he said we'd sell to him eventually.

Their just so arrogant they assume we have to do as they say.

I sold a Radley bag in excellent condition. The feedback I got was 'Lovely bag' but with a neutral rating Confused.

Really tempted to e-mail her to ask why but then realsied i was taking it much to much to heart (although have never had a negative or neutral before or since)

Have discovered buyers are weird creatures

I try to see buying in eBay as I would any online retailer but the difference being that these are individual sellers and unless obviously run as a business that they have a life outside of eBay and that has to be taken into consideration

I hope I'm not like this

I got a really stroppy message from a buyer because I had sent her maternity crop trousers and she wasn't pregnant; my point would have to be... don't bid on an auction for maternity clothes then!!!
Reread my description 3 times trying to work out how she missed that bit!?

i had a classic last week. I took the photos in daylight for the listing. I described the garment as grey several times in the listing inc the title. As an ex printer, i am really careful with colours. So i always match the shade and density to the item, if i need to edit the photo that is...i usually get it accurate upon taking... i make sure it always appears true on my monitor. Obviously other people's vary. So i got this feedback 'it is not the colour i was expecting' hmmm obviously someone's too hooked up on 50 shades of grey..literally.

I listed a size 8 maternity top. Had about 10 different people asking what size it was, despite the size being in the listing and the description.

My favourite question was from a buyer who messaged me asking "will it fit me?"

I messaged her back explaining that I didn't know her and couldn't see her, so couldn't tell.

Was selling a lovely new with tag floral tea dress, lots of photos, listed all measurements..and i got 'can you put up a photo of YOU wearing it so I can see how you fill it ' um no...it is a 10, i am no longer a 10, hence the sale...i could possibly squeeze one nipple into it, at a push

I find it annoying when you go to so much effort to be pleasant and message people to say thanks for buying and paying so quickly, then another message saying its been put in the post and they don't bother to give you any feedback.

I've had weird feedback today:

"I was expecting something a little different but still fab quality ribbon."

It was described as 2m of 9mm wide printed ribbon, and I sent, funnily enough, 2m of 9mm printed ribbon, in the exact design and colour she had chosen.

I would love to know what she was expecting Confused

I also get comments like "smaller than expected". The majority of my listings include dimensions, and if I have missed one, I'm always happy to be asked the size. Hmm
