I wish I'd never introduced my dh to eBay, he loves it but I've really gone off it. They charge you a fortune to use it, it takes ages to create a listing and to top it off they have refused to downgrade my account so now in have to pay more to list items in auction. The people on the phone are useless and I wish there could be another way to sell my stuff, any ideas?

compared to selling at general auction it is cheap, not as cheap as gumtree which is free but generally you get much more for your stuff, paypal fees are comparable to what a bank charges a small business for credit cards about 3% obviously I wish they were cheaper

if you sell a lot you can use templates and you can list items every quickly, using templates I listed 10 separate items of vintage embroidered linen this afternoon in about 20 minutes, I have business account and have about six different templates for linen , books, brass, china/glass, collectables and pictures

did you have business account and now want to downgrade to personal?

i think you will have to create another eBay account to use as your personal one. I know that is not ideal as you won't have the feedback to start with.

I have two separate accounts business one where I sell and buy stuff for business like packing labels bags bubble wrap and a personal account for selling household stuff Dd old clothes and toys etc and buying personal stuff

do not use your business account to sell your own stuff as taxman will assume it is income and tax accordingly unless you can categorically prove it was not business

so start new account can use same paypal
