Buyer who refused to pay threatening negative feedback?

I recently sold an item. The winning bidder told me his daughter had bid by accident and was not going to pay. Ok. So I opened a case in order to get back the ebay fees. He has now responded saying he is upset that I have done this as he has told me he cannot pay and will leave me negitive feedback if I continue!

Can he do this if he does not buy it? I am really infuriated by this!

Thanks!

Can't you cancel by mutual consent rather than do a unpaid item case. I'm sure this will allow you to get back your final value fees.

no he can't leave negative after a non paying bidder case. Don't do a mutual cancellation - if you do he can still leave feedback and he can refuse the case and you won't get your fees back.

Thanks- I thought so! It sounds silly but it upset me as I try to be as fair as possible with everything I sell!

Thank you

Update: He did manage to leave me negative feedback and I was livid as he lied and said he had recieved the item and it was damaged and I was terrible ebayer and not to buy from me!

I have chatted to ebay and apparently if he does not resolve the case then the feedback will be automatically removed. I'm so cross though! Arrrrg!
