At what point in a divorce do finances have to be agreed?

I have filed for divorce at the end of last month, as far as I know STBXH hasn't yet received the divorce petition.

We haven't yet agreed/properly discussed finances. At what point do these need to be agreed?

Also, do child living arrangements have to be agreed before the divorce can go through? We have a current arrangement agreed during mediation, but only for the first 6 months of our split, and he wants to review it before that.

Child arrangements and divorce are completely procedurally unrelated. YOu can review them any time.

Finances can also be addressed at any point but

* You can't issue a financial application until your petition is issued
* the court can't make a financial order (including by consent) until decree Nisi has been pronounced
* any financial order does not take effect until decree Absolute has been pronounced.

The advice I received was to do this before decree absolute

Perfect, thanks for that.
